Home Affairs tops CIG Sports Day

The Cayman Islands Government’s Wellness Committee first ever Sports Day 2016 was held on Friday September 30th at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
A total of eleven teams, made up of government leaders and civil servants, participated in various events on and off the track throughout the afternoon.
In the end, the Ministry of Home Affairs lead their team to victory and took home the trophy for 1st place. The CIG Sports Day champions accumulated a grand total of 176.5 points, closely followed by the Ministry of Community Affairs in 2nd place with 176 points.
The 3rd and 4th place winners were also extremely close, with the Ministry of Financial, and Economic Development in 3rd with 170.5 points, followed behind the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure in 4th with 170 points.
The Ministry of Financial Services, Commerce and Environment pulled their team to victory and won the tug-of-war competition, beating the Ministry of Home Affairs to the pull. (GIS)
