Pirates Week golf tourney postponed
- Updated: 27 October 2016
The Pirates Week Charity Golf Classic that was due to tee off on Friday, 28 October, has been postponed due to inclement weather, organisers announced.
Persistent rains drenched Grand Cayman Thursday and the National Weather Service forecast conditions to continue into the weekend with “an 80 percent chance of showers and thunder” on Friday.
The Pirates Week Office said the tournament, which will raise funds for the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of the Cayman Islands, has been rescheduled for Friday, 17 February, 2017 at the North Sound Golf Club.
“Registration for all teams will be honoured on this new date. Anyone interested in learning more about or wishing to participate in this event, should contact the Pirates Week Office at info@piratesweekfestival.com or call 949-5078,” a statement issued by the office stated.
“The Pirates Week Festival Office appreciates the support of its sponsors and volunteers for this fundraising event and look forward to a fantastic event in February,” it added.
