- Updated: 31 October 2016
A dozen players have been selected to represent the Cayman Islands at the Rugby Americas North sevens tournament in Trinidad from 12-13 November.
The selections were made after the conclusion of the October 7s series, in which Ashley Furniture 7s won the Estella Scott-Roberts Memorial Trophy.
“The October 7s series has seen a lot of standout players constantly reflecting better version of themselves. This series required a huge amount of commitment and dedication which certainly was reflected on the field,” league organisers said.
“This Union, since 1971, has been placing this country on the world rugby stage and we have risen to the challenge time and time again. I’m sure many of you agree that we are very grateful to have this opportunity once again to represent the Cayman Islands.”
Cayman’s men have been attracting attention ahead of the tournament as one of the teams to watch after impressing at the Hong Kong Sevens earlier this year.
