Cayman’s swimmers make strong start at CARIFTA Championships

The Cayman Islands made their presence felt Saturday morning (15 April) at the CARIFTA Swimming Championships in Nassau, Bahamas.
With some great swims and lots of excitement, 13 Cayman swimmers booked spots in finals during the evening session. Stephanie Royston, Corey Frederick-Westerborg and Lauren Hew each have two finals that they qualified for. (See table below)
Three of them will also compete in the 800m and 1500m timed finals tonight (Ria Plunkett, John Bodden and Alex Dakers).
Cayman also has a number of swimmers who are the first or second alternates for finals. Another highlight of this evening is the fact that Cayman will have a relay team in every age group tonight.
