C.I.S. takes PFL U9 crown
- Updated: 13 December 2017
Cayman International School’s ‘A’ team partially avenged their defeat last year at the hands of Cayman Prep ‘A’ with a 1-0 victory over St. Ignatius at the Annex on Saturday, 9 December to win the 2017 CUC Primary Football League Under-9 Champions Cup title.
After a delayed start due to squally weather conditions, the game itself was an exemplary display of controlled passing, technical excellence and respect for the game from both schools. A Thomas Isabel first-half strike was enough to secure the win and the Under-9 championship for CIS.
Prospect Primary secured third place in the Under 9 division with a hard fought 2-1 victory over defending Under-9 champions Cayman Prep ‘A’. Goals from Christo Durrant and Kaden Barboram were enough to seal the victory and the third-place finish.
In the PFL Under-9 Consolation Cup, Triple C won their first of two trophies on the day as they beat a very young CIS ‘B’ 3-0 thanks to two goals from Anthony Chin Jr. and a third from Corey McLaughlin.
