Back-to-back wins for Village Greenies
- Updated: 15 February 2018
Village Greenies defeated Police by 25 runs in week two action of Cayman Cricket’s Elite T20 League on 11 February to open their campaign with back-to-back wins.
Batting first in a shortened encounter, Greenies opened up a healthy scoring rate to reach 104 for the loss of only one wicket from their allotted 10 overs.
Chad Hauptfleisch looked in fine form as he stroked his way to an unbeaten 58. Opener Zach McLaughlin was also there in the end on 31, including a massive six to end the innings.
Police were slow to get their innings going and dug themselves in a hole early, as they watched the required run rate climb steadily. A 40 not out from skipper Troy Taylor was not enough, as Police could only muster 79 for three off 10 overs.
Village Greenies won by 25 runs to follow their 11-run thrilling win over Paramount CC a week earlier.
