Cayman swimmers make record medal haul

It has been a banner year for the Cayman Islands at the 2017 CARIFTA Swimming Championships in the Bahamas. Local swimmers won 47 medals in the pool at the Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Centre through four days of competition, topping the podium 16 time.
When the pool component wrapped up Tuesday night, 18 April, in addition to the 16 gold medals won by the Cayman Islands, there were also 14 silvers and 17 bronze medals. Team Cayman won double-digit medals for each of the four days and turn their attention on Wednesday to the open water swims.
The following are medals won on the final day of competition in the pool:
