Cayman swimmers with 16 medals at CARIFTA midpoint

The Cayman Islands added to its medal haul at the 33rd Annual CARIFTA Aquatic Championships in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday, 1 April.
Swimmers made six podium finishes on the second day of competition. At the midpoint of the meet, the Cayman Islands medal total stands at 16, including three gold, four silver, and nine bronze. The team remains fifth in the medal table.

Gold:
Girls 13-14 400m Individual Medley – Sabine Ellison 5:20.22
Bronze:
Girls 11-12 50m Freestyle – Jillian Crooks 30.95
Girls 11-12 200m Freestyle – Jillian Crooks 2:19.09
Boys 11-12 100m Backstroke – Stefano Bonati 1:11.92
Boys 13-14 400m Individual Medley – Jake Bailey 5:01.38
Girls 15-17 400m Individual Medley – Samantha Bailey 5:19.11
The competition continues Monday and Tuesday.
