Burger Shack’s Child Please team is undefeated after five games in the 2018 Burger King Flag Football Co-ed League in a quest to take the title for the seventh consecutive season.
The season kicked off on 16 February with 16 teams split into East and West division. This year’s team sponsors include Valu-Med, The Greenhouse, Pirates Den Pub, Cayman National Bank, Burger King, Popeye’s, Deliotte, Cayman Auto, Kimpton Seafire, Orchid Development, Maples, Dart, Burger Shack, Bogle Insurance, Tribe Tattoo and BnP’s BBQ.
Burger Shack leads the East with a 5-0 record, scoring 138 points and dominating on defence to concede only 18. The Greenhouse leads the West with a 6-0 record.
However, there are other teams that should not be overlooked and have made their impression on the field. Deliotte, Popeye’s and BnP BBQ are only behind by one loss and Valu-Med, Cayman National Bank and Bogle Insurance with two losses.
Week 8 starts this Friday, 20 April, with the first set of games starting at 7:30 p.m. at Ed Bush Sports Complex in West Bay. The semi-finals are set for 11 May.
The co-ed league is one of many organised by the Cayman Islands Flag Football Association.
