Cricket season bowls off

Cayman Cricket’s 2018 domestic T20 season bowled off last weekend with Sol and Greenies claiming wins in the Elite League.
On 4 February at Jimmy Powell Oval, Sol opened their season with a 42-run win over Police. Batting first, Sol scored 107 for six off 18 overs. Gregory Smith top scored with 24. They then restricted Police to 65 all out (15.2 overs). Nigel Strough provided some resistance with 28.
In the later game, Greenies defeated Paramount CC by 11 runs. Umroy Williams had a game high of 32 to lead the way for Greenies, as they managed 94 from their allotted 20 overs. Greenies bowlers then held off Paramount and dismissed them for 83. Omar Willis scored 29.
In the Super League on 3 February, Sri Lanka beat Chillies by eight wickets. Chillies 94-9 (18.0 overs), Sri Lanka 95-2 (13.3 overs) R Kumar 51 not out.
Clean Gas won by 52 runs against Tamilnadu. Clean Gas 174-5 (20.0 overs) P Heron 84, A Hall 49, O Ozair 3-24. Tamilnadu 122 (19.5 overs) K Bazil 3-34.
All matches in Grand Cayman are scheduled at Jimmy Powell Oval for the next few weeks, as upgrades continue to the field at Smith Road Oval.
