The Sunday Beach Volleyball League opened play on 30 October at Public Beach with 21 teams competing in three divisions.
Heather’s Assassins turned things around after a slow start to come out tops in Division A of the competition organised by the Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation. Going into the semi-finals 0-3, they rose to the challenge and downed Volley Rogers 21-19 in the finals to emerge as the winners of the top group.
In Division B, it was Sons of a Beach who finished top of the heap, ahead of eight other teams. Son of a Beach didn’t allow any aces when they played Kiss Our Aces in the final, winning 21-17.
Notorious DIG was the toast of Division C and made a name for themselves as they annihilated Balls in Yo Face 21-8 in the final to be promoted to Division B. Beach Dolphins was demoted to Division C.
