Football is back

Top-flight football action resumes this weekend after a one-week break, with fixtures in the men’s 2016-17 Cayman Premier League and the Women’s Premier League.
Entering the seventh round of the Cayman Premier League on Sunday, 20 November, Elite SC and Bodden Town FC continue to lead the pack. Both clubs have 13 points, sporting identical records of four wins, one loss and one draw. Elite has superior goal difference (see table below).
Bodden Town, unbeaten in the last three matches, faces Latinos FC, which sits fourth place in the table. That match is being played at the Annex in George Town at 7:00 p.m. At the same time at Ed Bush Sports Complex in West Bay, Elite squares off against Sunset FC, which is one point off the bottom of the table.
In the earlier kickoffs at 4:45 p.m., Roma United faces Cayman Athletic at the Annex and Scholars International, which is three points behind the leaders, faces Academy SC at Ed Bush Sports Complex.
The women are back on the pitch for their second round of league matches on Saturday, 19 November. Elite SC, which beat Alliance FC handily 5-1 two weeks ago, looks to cement their early season lead when they face defending champions Sunset FC at 5:45 p.m. Meantime, at 8:00 p.m. the newly-formed Alliance FC will meet Scholars International, which drew 2-2 with Sunset FC last time out. Both matches will be played at the Annex.
Also on Saturday are matches in the CIFA Under 15 Boys League. At 2:00 p.m., Cayman Athletic meets Sunset FC. This will be followed by Bodden Town FC against Academy SC at 4:00 p.m. Both fixtures will be played at the CIFA field in Prospect.
On Monday, 21 November, East End United faces Cayman Athletic in the CIFA Under 17 Boys League at the Annex starting at 5:30 p.m. At the same time, Academy SC A and Academy SC B meet at Ed Bush Sports Complex.
The CIFA First Division returns on 26 November.
