George Town unbeaten in 1st Division

George Town SC continued its unbeaten run in the CIFA First Division with its third straight win to start the 2016-17 season.
The team from the capital played away to Cayman Brac FC at the new complex on the Bluff Saturday night (26 November)
Tex Whitelocke (39 min) and Junior Welcome (90 min) scored for George Town in the 2-0 win, as the club continued its solid start, staying ahead of the pack in the lower league with an eye on a speedy return to the top fight.
Elsewhere, Alliance FC picked up its second win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Academy SC, a side made up of younger players.
Paul Brown gave Alliance the early lead at the Annex when he scored in the 4th minute, then Scott Hydes added another in the 32rd for a 2-0 halftime lead. Dante Robinson added some insurance in the 81st minute.
At the Ed Bush Sports Complex, two late goals from Floyd McKenzie sealed the deal as North Side edged Elite SC 3-2 for a come from behind victory.
Carlos Andrade gave Elite the lead in the 13th minute. Shakur Silhurn doubled the lead just before the half but Guiton King scored his fourth goal of the short season moments before the half to pull North Side within one.
McKenzie scored seven minutes into the second half before putting the winner into the back of the net in the 81st minute.
In Bodden Town, East End United FC and Future FC played to a scoreless draw.
