Junior netballers back on court
- Updated: 25 January 2018
The Cayman Islands junior netball competition started with a bang in January, as players returned to the courts at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
The largest margin of victory on 13 January was posted All Stars A in the U14 Division. They defeated Sky Angels 32 goals to 4. According to observers, the young netballers from Sky Angels appeared nervous, and were overwhelmed by the young All Stars team who were composed and confident in their execution.
In the other U14 game Golden Strikers A defeated Rising Stars U14 17 goals to 7.
In the afternoon first games Golden Strikers B defeated Rising Stars 10 goals to 6; and Golden Strikers A defeated All Stars 9 – 4.
Before the start of the games, the new technical director, Maureen Hall, congratulated the young netballers for participating, advising them that they were the future of Cayman Islands netball.
Hall noted that the opportunity being given for the young netballers to participate would assist them in developing their skills while learning how to compete.
League games for 20 January were cancelled due to water-logged courts from continuous rain.
The League continues on Saturday, 27 January with four games:
U14:
Golden Strikers vs All Stars
Sky Angels vs Rising Stars
U12:
All Stars vs Rising Stars
Golden Strikers B vs Golden Strikers A
Junior league games start at 4:00 p.m., followed by senior league games at 6:45 p.m.
