Male gymnastics trio competes in Chicago
- Updated: 5 February 2018
Three male gymnasts travelled from the Cayman Islands to Chicago for the Windy City Invitational from 18-21 January 2018, an event attended by thousands of competitors from across the United States.
Karthik Sebastian Adapa (Level 7), Kaleb Woolaver (Level 6), and Alex Hare (Level 4) competed in all six Olympic gymnastics events – floor, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bars.
Hare had five top-3 finishes and placed second in the All-Around Competition at his first international meet. Adapa placed sixth in the vault, and Woolaver also returned with hardware.
“I am very proud of each boy for the hard work they have endured in the gym the past few months in preparation, their dedication really paid off and it showed,” said coach Doran Zimmerman.
The boys team will travel to Florida in March with the girls team to compete at the Gasparilla Classic.
