Newcomers get first win in Co-ed Flag Football League
- Updated: 15 March 2019
Week 2 of the 2019 Burger King Flag Football CoEd League could easily be labelled as the most exciting and unpredictable season so far. Games kicked off at dusk under the lights at 6.30pm with new teams touching the field for the first time since the new season.
First matchups were Division A’s Greenhouse up against Popeye’s. Despite winning their first game last week, Popeye’s were no match for Greenhouse who dominated the game from start to finish. Greenhouse won 35-20.
In Division B, Burger King went up against Walkers with Burger King taking the game 32-22.
In the scheduled games for 7:30, Magnum Chargers went up against Cayman Auto. Cayman Auto took charge from beginning to end, winning the game 30-7.
On Field 2, BNP challenged Bogle Insurance. Despite Bogle working well defensively, BNP won 14-8.
In the 8:30 matchups, Burger Shack played against newcomers Cayman Water. Despite Cayman Water managing to score a touchdown against the defending champs they were still no match for the veterans who won 30-7.
In Division B, newly formed CoEd team Dolphin Discovery were up against Cayman National. This game proved to be a nail-biting one from start to finish. But in the end, it was the newbies winning by a point (19-18).
Week 3 action takes place 15 march at Ed Bush Sports Complex on West Bay starting at 6:30pm.
