Panthers, Lynx still undefeated

BK Panthers and Greenhouse Lynx remains undefeated so far this season as the summer heat continues in the Cayman Islands Flag Football Association Premier League.
Game one kicked off with third-ranked Wolverines against the Burger King Rebelz. Rebelz scored early as Keisha Solomon ran a 20 yard touchdown to put her team in the lead. Wolverines offense would control the remainder of the game however, as QB Antoinette Lewis threw four touchdowns to Shanice Bodden, Ameilia Gillespie and Anna Nyaundi. The game will end 26-6 in favor of Wolverines.
Game two featured Miller Lite Hellcats against Maples FS Titans. This game was a nail-biting affair as both teams were strong both offensively and defensively. Deandre Simpson of Titans scored the first touchdown from an interception to give Titans the lead. Simpson added another touchdown with Terrick Myles scoring the extra point. Will Peguero led the HellCats offense supplying Paul Laidlaw and Terry Ballard with touchdown opportunities. HellCats edged Titans for the 14-13 win.
In the Greenhouse Lynx vs Maples Jaguars match-up, Jaguars played an impressive game despite losing by a touchdown. Khadija Chisholm ran a 60-yard touchdown, her team’s first since the start of the season. Kayla Robinson led the Jaguars defense with four tackles but that didn’t stop Lynx from scoring two touchdowns courtesy of Denecia Cranston and Shenell Gall. Lynx took the 14-6 victory to continue their undefeated run in the league.
In the final game of the day, undefeated BK Panthers went up against Maples. QB Brendon Malice led the offense providing touchdown passes to Paul Chin and Ryan Pull. Panthers dominated en route to shutout win (13-0).
On Monday, 20 August 20, the first game under the lights at Annex Field kicked off with Maples Jaguars against HSM Vipers. Vipers were in full control with touchdowns scored by Maggie Ebanks, Ericia Burke and Glenita Logan in the 21-0 win. Also Monday, Panthers defeated Uncle Clem Wolves 14-0.
Week 8 games will be held on Saturday 25 August at Ed Bush Sports Complex with the first game starting at 1:00 p.m.
