Phillips hat-trick leads Elite women past Alliance
- Updated: 6 December 2016
A hat-trick from Tamoy Phillips led Elite SC past Alliance SC in the latest round of matches in the 2015-16 CIFA Women’s League on Saturday, 3 December.
Phillips put Elite in the lead three minutes into the game in Bodden Town before Shanice Monteith widened the margin in the 11th minute.
Alliance pulled one back when Halle Medina scored in the 29th minute.
After ending the first half with a 2-1 lead, Elite then extended it courtesy Phillips’ second in the 61st minute. Six minutes later, Sabrina Suberan cut the lead to one when she scored for Alliance.
However, Elite made it a two-goal difference when Phillips registered her hat-trick in the 83rd minute to seal a 4-2 win.
This is the second time Elite has beaten Alliance this season. They opened the season with a 5-1 result on 5 December.
Meantime, at the Annex, Sunset FC and Scholars International played to a scoreless draw Saturday night.
The score reflected how close the two sides are. In fact, there is very little separation between Sunset FC, Elite SC and Scholars International in the women’s league.
After the latest round of matches, Elite has leapfrogged Sunset to go top of the standings. Elite now has nine points after four matches. Sunset, which has yet to lose a game, has eight points.
There will be no games in the CIFA Women’s League this weekend.
