Red Bay Primary wins Inter-Primary Track & Field

Red Bay Primary School ran away with the title ahead of 19 other schools at the 2018 Inter-Primary Track and Field Championships at Truman Bodden Sports Complex from 15-16 March.

At the end of the two days of competition, Red Bay Primary amassed 247 points, well ahead of second-placed George Town Primary School (186.5) and third-placed Savannah Primary (148). Last year’s champions, Prospect Primary were fourth with 138 points and Sir John A Cumber Primary fifth with 122.5 points.

Cayman Academy was the small schools champion with First Baptist Christian second in that category.

Stella Seymour of Cayman International School (CIS) was the Victrix Ludorum as the top female performer at the meet, and Anthony Chin Jr of Triple C School was the Victor Ludorum as the top male athlete.

“It’s been exciting over the two days…The fact that we had 20 schools – last year, we had 15 – that sort of helped to lengthen the day but it was all exciting and wonderful to see our students come together to demonstrate what they have learnt in our PE curriculum,” said Gloria Bell, Senior School Improvement Officer at the Department of Education Services.
