Sunset women win Charity Shield
- Updated: 19 April 2018
Sunset Football Club won the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) 2018 Women’s Charity Shield over Elite Sports Club on 15 April thanks to a late goal from Elena Testori.
Molly Keogh put Sunset out front in the 39th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the interval. Five minutes after play resumed, Shenelle Frederick brought the scores level and it remained that way for another half hour.
As the clock ticked toward the end, it was Testori who delivered the goods in the 81st minute to give Sunset the 2-1 win.
Meantime, Sunset FC women return to the pitch on Saturday, 21 April, for their final league match against George Town Sports Club. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. at Ed Bush Sports Complex.
