Bodden Town widens lead atop league table
- Updated: 1 February 2017
Goals from Ricoh Brown, Karl Solomon and Kyle Leon all scored to secure Bodden Town their ninth win in 12 matches, as the Cayman Premier League leaders widened their gap over the field on Sunday, 29 January.
It didn’t take long for Bodden Town to move ahead of Academy SC in their second game at Haig Bodden Playing Field this season. Six minutes in, the team’s leading scorer, Ricoh Brown scored and the side never looked back.
Karl Solomon, who has been a solid all-round player for Elbert McLean’s side all season, scored in the 25th. Kyle Leon added a third in the 86th to secure three points for Bodden Town, which now has a four-point lead on Elite in the standings.
It was the second straight week that Academy failed to get the win. They’re stuck on 16 points with Scholars International and Latinos FC, 12 behind the side at the top of the table.
Two days earlier, a 48th minute penalty kick from Roma United captain Gawayne Speed was the difference as his side edged Latinos FC at the Annex under the lights.
