FA Cup kicks off this weekend

The 2017/18 Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Men’s FA Cup kicks off with a slate of seven games this weekend, 9-10 December. Contesting for the trophy are all 14 teams playing in the CIFA Premier League this season, along with Alliance FC.
Reigning champions Bodden Town FC open their defence against Sunset FC at the Annex Sunday night at 7:00 p.m.
Other match-ups are league leaders Latinos FC facing Future SC at Ed Bush Sports Complex starting at 5:00 p.m. This will be followed by Cayman Brac FC vs Alliance FC at 8:00 p.m. Meantime at the Annex, George Town SC will meet Tigers FC at 8:00 p.m.
At Ed Bush on Sunday, North Side SC opens against Elite SC at 4:45 p.m., followed by a salivating clash featuring Roma United and Scholars International at 7:00 p.m. The late game features two of the clubs toward the top of the standings in the CIFA Premier League.
Academy SC, last season’s runner-up, drew a bye for the first round and will await to see who they face in the quarterfinals on 21 January, 2018.
