Future, Academy Lions pick up second wins in U11 league
- Updated: 14 February 2017
Future Sports Club and Academy Lions each picked up their second wins in as many matches on Saturday, 11 February, to start the CUFA Under-11 Boys League.
Future beat George Town 2-0 behind a brace from Javon Henry. A week earlier, they beat Prospect Academy 6-0 to open the season.
Lions, one of two Academy Sports Club teams in the competition, edged Savannah Tigers ‘A’ 2-1, completing back-to-back wins over team from Tigers, after beating the ‘B’ side 3-0 last week.
The other winner at the Annex was Sunset Rangers, playing in their first game of the two-week old season. Rangers defeated Tigers ‘B’ by a score of 4-0. Jakub Neveril scored twice, while Justin Parsons and Matthew Goulden added a goal apiece. It was a second loss in a row for Tigers ‘B’.
Academy Stingrays and Sunset Celtic played to a scoreless draw. Both teams won their openers the previous Saturday.
Prospect Academy had the week off.
Meantime, the CIFA Under-11 Girls League kicked off with two games, also played at the Annex.
Chloe Ebanks scored twice to lead Savannah Tigers to a 3-0 win over Prospect Academy, while Elite Sports Club and Academy Sports Club drew 1-1.
The season runs until April and games will be played every Saturday morning at the Annex Field in George Town.
