Massive Open Water Relay this weekend
- Updated: 24 March 2017
Swimmers hit the beach this weekend, as the Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association (CIASA) hosts the Massive Open Water Relay.
The race, sponsored by Massive, features teams of four and takes place in the water off Governors Beach starting at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, 25 March.
Teams consisting of four members will participate in either the 4 x 400m (12 and under only) or 4 x 600m (13 and over in either an age group category or the corporate division). Swimmers who are interested in participating but who do not have a team can contact ciasaboard@gmail.com.
Registration and markings take place from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. ahead of a 3:45 p.m. start.
The CI$100 entry fee per team includes a t-shirt and a social BBQ upon the conclusion of the event. The proceeds will assist in sending 31 Cayman swimmers between the ages of 11 and 17 to compete in the Bahamas at the CARIFTA 2017 championships.
