Pascal gets season’s best at CAC Games
- Updated: 3 August 2018
Alex Pascal, Cayman’s final athlete to compete at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games had his best performance of the season to finish eighth in the men’s javelin on Thursday night, 2 August.
Pascal, 23, opened his account with a throw of 73.21 metres, which put him in medal contention early on. However, he was unable to improve on that distance, which proved to be the best of his 2018 season.
Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago won the gold medal with 84.47 metres, ahead of Grenada’s Anderson Peters and David Alberto Carreon of Mexico.
Pascal, the Cayman Islands national record holder travelled to the Eastern Caribbean island of Grenada to work on his form ahead of the CAC Games, as he has had little opportunity for competition this season since his last major event at the Commonwealth Games in Australia more than three months ago. His best mark in Gold Coast was 66.66 metres.
CaymanSportsBuzz.com will have a full recap of the CAC Games this weekend.
