Scholars thump George Town, Elite beat Sunset
- Updated: 21 February 2018
Scholars International scored a convincing win over George Town Sports Club and Elite Sports Club beat Sunset Football Club in the latest round of the 2018 CIFA Women’s Premier League.
On Saturday, 17 February at Ed Bush Sports Complex, Scholars International put on a scoring display as they overpowered George Town with an 11-0 finish.
Susani Lucas scored eight times (you read that correctly) with goals in the 14th, 17th, 23rd, 32nd, 34th, 39th, 82nd and 84th minutes. Other goals were scored by Arie Smith (12’), Ericia Burke (19’), and Sabrina Suberan (54’).
Although it was quite a hammering for George Town, the side continues to find its feet after fielding a team this season for the first time in several years.
In the other game of the weekend, Lanisa McLaughlin (11’) and Shanelle Frederick (24’) put defending champions Elite SC ahead in the first half, as they held on for a 2-0 win over Sunset FC.
In the next round of games, Sunset FC and Scholars International meet at the Annex on 24 February at 5:45 p.m. Elite and George Town play at the same venue the following day at 4:45 p.m.
